Micronational Development and Progress index
The Friendship Nations Group has designed this index of development and progress to provide a framework through
which new micronational members of the group may develop the various aspects of their micronation, growing from an emerging
micronation to a fully developed sovereign micronation.
The FNG index measures such aspects as national symbols, treaties, academic development, financial institutions, trade,
currency, legal aspects, constitutional framework, and production capacity. The Friendship National Group's structured
approach to a development and progress index provides a unique step-by-step method for its members.
The Friendship Nations Group organiser will guide newer micronations in the development process and provide written
confirmation in the form of certificates when each of the three stages is complete. The three stages of this index are
emerging micronation, developing micronation, and developed micronation.
Developed Micronations
A fully developed micronation has the ability to create university courses for its
citizens. It can create and pass laws. It has a cultural identity that is reflected in its traditions
and social events. Developed micronations import or export products and are recognised
by many micronations, with whom it has mutual recognition agreements.
Micronations that aspire to be classified as a 'developed micronation' under the FNG
development and progress index must complete the following tasks:
• Design and develop a course on a micronational theme and include it in the FNG university hub.

• Create a stationery product and offer it for sale in the trading block section.
|
• Successfully complete two courses from the university hub section.
|
• Receive recognition from five other micronations (they do not need to be members of the group).
|
• Participate in 10 cultural events organised by the State of Samizdat.
|
• Create and adopt a minimum of two laws on any legal aspect.
|
Developing Micronations
Developing micronations have established a university, a national bank, and a micronational
currency. These micronations have a working government and have passed at least one law. Developing
micronations have gained recognition from some micronations and have opened an embassy.
Micronations that aspire to be classified as a 'developing micronation' under the FNG
development and progress index must complete the following tasks:
• Establish a university with its own logo.

• Successfully complete one course from the university hub section.
|
• Create and adopt a minimum of one law on any legal aspect.
|
• Establish a national bank with its own logo.
|
• Create a national currency and produce example banknotes (not coins).
|
• Receive recognition from three other micronations (they do not need to be members of the group).
|
• Establish a micronational government with a prime minister, a president, or a monarch (king, queen).
|
• Create a website for their micronation and a wiki (MicroWiki, DoveArchives, etc.)
|
• Open an embassy in the Diplomacy section.
|
• Participate in 5 cultural events organised by the State of Samizdat.

Emerging Micronations
Emerging micronations have designed a flag and a coat of arms. They have claimed
land and have been recognised by at least one other micronation. Emerging micronations have a Discord
server and a constitution (codified or uncodified). These micronations have begun to develop their
culture and have participated in a cultural event.
Micronations that aspire to be classified as an 'emerging micronation' under the FNG
development and progress index must complete the following tasks:
• Design and adopt a national flag.

• Design and adopt a coat of arms.
|
• Claim land (bedrooms and houses, backyards, gaps between nations, uninhabited sectors of Antarctica)
|
• Receive recognition from one other micronation (recognition from Samizdat is valid).
|
• Open a Discord server
|
• Participate in 1 cultural event organised by the State of Samizdat.

• Have a constitution (codified or uncodified)
